Intended use

The cardm-emulator software can be used to connect a cardio 300 or 400, with or without Bluetooth, to an existing 4.X.X. version of custo diagnostic. The cardm-emulator does not support all features of the cardio 300 and 400. The cardm-emulator might be helpful in case a broken cardm or cardio 1xx must be exchanged by a cardio 300 or 400. Or in case an additional cardio 300 or 400 must be installed on an existing 4.x.x. software.


Installation instruction

For installation download the cardm-emulator-setup.exe, install the program as administrator. ( Right-click on the program and choose install as administrator) Follow the steps by pressing next. At the end of the installation the settings dialog appears. In the settings dialog you can configure the emulator. The setup installs both COM-ports for the virtual bridge.

After the installation you will be asked to restart the PC.

  1. On this position you should enter one of the two virtual COM-ports that just have been generated by the cardm-emulator-setup program.
  2. On position two you'll see the COM-port that has to be entered in custo diagnostic
  3. Here you can install the device that you would like to use the emulator for, cardio 300 or 400 with or without Bluetooth.
  4. It is also possible to add acardio 300 or 400 using the custo router. To perform that step enter the specifications of the custo router and press rescan.
  5. The pacemaker detection should be global activated or deactivated. This cannot be changed while running.
  6. As in custo diagnostic version 4.6 / 5.0 the start button on the cardio 300 can be set to "Auto start" or "Start" ( This functionality only works in combination with an English or German version of custo diagnostic.
  7. Here you can change the settings of the cardio 400, just as in the custo diagnostic software, suction power, detachment time, cleaning time and Detach the electrodes at the end of the test.

Functionality

The cardm-emulator will after successful installation automatically startet.

In the Systray from Windows a small icon will be shown, The color of the point on the icon will show the status of the program

  Grey = Not in use

  Green = In use and ECG is active

  Yellow = connecting to device

  Red = Error, trying to reconnect

Errors caused by a low battery, activated humidity sensor are show in a Windows error message. ( The message can be different depending on the Windows version.)

The cardio 300 does not show the count down timer with the blue LEDSThat is correct, you can start the custo diagnostic resting ECG with the start button on the cardio 300 but the blue count down timer will not be shown.
