Standard Installation Procedure (here the 'Stand-alone' Modus)

This Procedure describes how the Installation procedure works.

  1. Start the Setup program


  2. Select the Language for the Setup

    The Setup will remember the selected Language for the next Installation or Update.

  3. Click 'Next' o the Welcome Page


  4. Agree and Confir the EULA


  5. Enter the Registered User and Company. You can leav this Field also empty.
    Select in the second Part of the Page whether the Shortcuts are installed for the currently logged on User or for all Users.


  6. Select the Installation Type
    For this Setup you have to select the "Stand-alone" Mode.


  7. Input the License Number (6 digit).
    With the Funktion 'Check License' you can test if the License suites to the custo diagnostic Version you want to install.


  8. Select some Options needed by you
    (Description see here)


  9. Select the GUI Language for custo diagnostic


  10. Select the Folder where custo diagnostic to be installed


  11. Wait for the Installation Process


  12. Finish the Installation. Sometime you will informed here if an restart of the Computer is necessary.


Installation Types

Stand-alone - all Components on one Computer

With this Mode the Setup install all necessary Components on this local Computer. This is useful for Stand-alone Machines.

Server - Network Installation

With this Mode you can Install the first Part (Server) of a custo diagnostic Network Environment on a centralized Computer (eg. Server) (see also 'Client - Network Installation').

On the next page you can choose the Storage Folder for the cst Files on the Server. Its absolute recommend to store the evaluation files (cst) on the local filesystem. The Setup will create this Folder and make a Share onto this Folder (Default: "\\COMPUTERNAME\custo med"). This Share must be accessable from the Client. Please remember this Share for the Client Setup. After the Setup has finished you can find in this Folder the CustoCfg.ini for the Client Access. For the License Functionality see (above) Step 7.

After this Page the Setup continues with Step 8 (see above). Some Options are enabled or disabled by default.

Client - Network Installation

With this Mode you can Install the second Part (Client) of a custo diagnostic Network Environment. This Mode has to be installed at a Client Workstation.
You can use this Installation type only if you install the 'Server - Network Installation' before.

On the next Page you have to choose the CustoCfg.ini in the File Share created during the "Server Setup".

After this Page the Setup continues with Step 8 (see above). Some Options are enabled or disabled by default. For example no Database Server Option is enabled or available.

Satellite System - Client, to use as a Satellite Computer

With this Mode you can Install custo diagnostic as a Satellite Client. This Mode has to be installed at a Client Workstation.

On the next Page you have to choose the CustoCfg.ini in the File Share created during the "Server Setup".

After this Page the Setup continues with Step 8 (see above). Some Options are enabled or disabled by default. For example the Database Server Option is enabled to install the SQL Express on the local Computer or the Creating of the Satellite Shortcut.

User defined - manual selection of custo diagnostic x.x Components

With this Mode you can install all available Options independently of each other on your Computer. This Mode is useful if you want to add some Options, Drivers or additional Programs to your Computer.

After this Page the Setup continues with Step 8 (see above) with all Options available to enable or disable.

Available Options


During the Setup you can select some Options to install optional or additional Parts. Some Options are mandatory (identifiable on the checked and disabled Select Buttons) in some Installation Types. For example the SQL Express is mandatory in 'Stand-alone'- but not necessary in 'Client'-Installation Type. With the Installation Type 'User defined' you can select all Options (including 'custo diagnostic x.x' and Drivers) free as you want. So you can install some Options or Drivers additionally to your current Installation.

Microsoft SQL Express 2014 x86This Option install the Microsoft SQL Express 2014 x86 on the Computer. The SQL Express is to be used as the Database Server for custo diagnostic. During the Installation with predifined Customizations:
  • Installation Path: Default (C:)
  • Database Path: Default
  • Instanzname: CUSTODIAGNOSTIC
  • Auth Type: mixed Mode (sa Password: ***********)
  • Collation: Latin1_General_CI_AS
  • SQL Server Browser: enabled
  • TCP/IP Access: enabled

the Setup creates also a Login, Database and Databaseuser:

  • Login Name: custodiagnostic
  • Password of Login: custodiagnostic
  • Database Name: custodiagnostic
  • Login is db_owner of the Database
Mobile Device Center 6.1 x64This Option install the Mobile Device Center on the Computer (Windows 7 / 8.1 only - not applicable on WIndows 10). The Mobile Device Center is necessary if you want to connect custo kybe to run in an kybe Center on this Computer.
ECG Networkmonitoring ShortCutThis Option creates a Shortcut for the ECG Monitoring over Network (from other ECG Machines on your Computer.
Quick ECG ShortCutThis Option creates a Shortcut for the Quick ECG Module in custo diagnostic to start custo diagnostic in a quick ECG recording Mode without Patient Information.
custo diagnostic Satellite ShortCutThis Option creates a Shortcut to start custo diagnostic in Satellite Mode (if licensed and configured).
custo cardio touch ShotCutThis Option creates a Shortcut to start custo diagnostic in touch Mode (if licensed and configured).
custo diagnostic PDF PrinterThe custo diagnostic PDF Printer is used for grabbing PDF Files. This Function is used for example in the custo connect Project when the foreign Program creates a Printout for the Report to be stored in custo diagnostic.
Disable AutoplayThis Option disables the Autoplay Function in Windows. This is useful if you use SD cards in Windows to suppress some Dialogues (for example in Holter ECG).
Support over InternetThis Option install the TeamViewer QuickConnect Client.
.Net FrameworkIf this Option is enabled the Setup try to install .NET 2.0.x on the Computer (not included in the Setup File, if available as Setup File enclosed the custo diagnostic Setup).
custo diagnostic DocumentationIf an Folder 'custo-med-Manuals' with Manuals enclosed to the Setup File available this Option will be enabled. If this Option is checked the Setup wil copy the Content of the Folder 'custo-med-Manuals' to the Computer to make the Mnuals available to the Customer.

Available Drivers

During the Setup you can Select some Drivers to be installed on the PC. Only the 'CodeMeter System' is mandatory on every PC. The CodeMeter System is a Part of the Security System of custo diagnostic and absolute necessary. All other Drivers can be selected as needed.

The Driver Installation consists of 2 Parts. Every Time if a Driver should be installed (during Setup or Update) the Driver ist uninstalled first and reinstalled second.
