To use this function, the suction level must be set to at least level 3 in custo diagnostic. With automatic suction power control, the suction level is increased until the system is airtight and the electrodes rest tightly enough against the skin of the patient. If the suction level is set manually, automatic suction level control is deactivated.

1) The power supply for the custo cardio 400 is 12 Volt DC instead of 15 Volt DC from the custo cardio 200. The connection is the same what happens if they are swapped?

The maximum input voltage for the custo cardio 400 is 15 Volt DC. So the power supply from the custo cardio 200 can also be used. The power supply for the custo cardio 400 however is a medical power supply.

2) Can the cardio 400 be used with a custo power station and a Onyx Venus Tablet (with Low Voltage Output Module)?

The custo cardio 400 will work on both devices. The Onyx Venus has to be used in 12 Volt DC output mode.

3) Can the custo cardio 400 also be powered by a USB port?

No, it is not possible to power the custo cardio 400 by USB ( this was also NOT possible for the custo cardio 200).

4) What is the minimum required software under which the custo cardio 400 will run?

custo diagnostic 4.6.x and custo diagnostic 5.0.x. This also applies to the custo cardio 300 Series.

5) What is Automatic Suction Level Control?

To use this function, the suction level must be set to at least level 3 in custo diagnostic. With automatic suction level control, the suction level is increased until the system is airtight and the electrodes rest tightly enough against the skin of the patient.
If the suction level is set manually, automatic suction level control is deactivated. Under level "3" the automatic suction control is deactivated by default.

Generally the automatic suction level control will be deactivated every time the "+" or "-" button, to set the suction level manually, on the cardio 400 is pressed.

6) What suction levels can be set through custo diagnostic and what levels manually?

custo diagnostic can set 6 suction levels, from level 0 up till level 6 (from 0 up till minus 280 mbar).
In manual mode you cannot set a lower value than step one ( -60 mbar). This is to prevent that the user accidentally switches off the device and have all the electrodes drop off while recording ECG.

7) What do the different colors mean in the suction visualisation on the custo cardio 400?

Blue: The device is connected using a wireless connection (Bluetooth or WiFi).

Turquoise: The device is connected using USB.

Yellow:

  • The moisture sensor is has detected moisture in the housing of the custo cardio 400. The device still continues working normally.
  • The custo cardio 400 has detected a leak for over 5 minutes the under pressure cannot hold the set suction level. The automatic suction control is disabled and the LED for the lowest suction level lights up. custo diagnostic writes an error in the Error.log file.
  • The system has a too high under pressure (<= -300mbar). The automatic suction level control is disabled and the LED for the lowest suction level lights up. custo diagnostic writes an error in the Error.log file.

Green: The automatic electrode dropoff is activated or the custo cardio 400 has been set into cleaning mode (<= 1min). The indication for the suction level has been used as countdown timer.

Orange: A key combination has been pressed e.g. to reset the custo cardio 400.

8) Troubleshooting: What should be done in case of a WARNING (e.g suction level is too high or has a leak in the custo cardio 400)?

The custo cardio 400 can, in case of a warning, normally be used.

9) Key combinations on the custo cardio 400.

  • Press the "ON" Key for >= 3 Sec.
Pressure LED will light up Orange.
Depending on the settings in custo diagnostic will either the custo cardio 400 activate the 10 seconds automatic Resting ECG record or the normal ECG recording will be started and can be finished by pressing the ON key for another 3 seconds or stopping the record in custo diagnostic.
It is possible to configure custo diagnostic that it records 10 seconds of ECG (Setting : Autostart) using start will record ECG till the next time the start button on the custo cardio 400 is pressed again. Or you can always stop the ECG in the custo diagnostic program.

  • Press >= 3 second on the cleaning button is not functional jet.
  • When the plus and minus key on the custo cardio 400 is pressed simultaniously for >=3 seconds you will activate a hard reset. This cannot be activated during a record of an ECG.

10) How to update the firmware of the custo cardio 400

You can update the firmware of the EAS01 circuit board by using the firmware update tool. This circuit board is responsible for the ECG amplifier. Inside the custo cardio 400 there is a second circuit board, the EAS02 the control board, this can only be updated in the factory.

11) How to change the to be used Interface (BT/WiFi or USB)?

If you connect an USB cable to the custo cardio 400 and to your PC the custo cardio 400 changes the interface automatically to the USB port. The suction level indicator will light in turcoise.

If you unplug the USB cable from the custo cardio 400 (or from your computer) the custo cardio 400 will change the interface automatically to BT/WiFi. The suction level indicator will light in blue.

While ECG recording in BT/WiFi mode the interface will not be changed until the recording is finished.

12) USB drivers necessary for custo cardio 400?

custo cardio 400 is using the Windows integrated "Mass Storage Device" driver. There is no need to install a special driver.

After you has plug in the USB cable to custo cardio 400 and your PC a drive letter is created and visible in Windows Explorer.

ATTENTION:
Its highly recommend to change the drive letter to an drive letter in the upper area of the alphabet. The helps to prevent drive letter changes through other devices, network drives or removable mass storages.

13) Troubleshooting: After Power on the System you cannot connect to custo cardio 400

If you use custo cardio 400 on the custo med Telecope Arm with the delivered power supply it can be possible that the power output of the power supply is too low to power on the device.

In this case you have to exchange the power supply to the custo cardio 200 model (15V voltage output).
